Providing a place for reflection and action for the Kingdom of God and integral mission

The Kairos Foundation was formed as a community in 1976 by a group of Christian leaders residing in Argentina. Its main objective was the formation of disciples of Jesus Christ who would relate their faith to every aspect of life and particularly to their own professions. In 1987 the community was registered as a non-profit organisation called "Fundación Kairós". For over thirty years Kairos has been inspired and led by René and Catharine Padilla.

Integral Mission…

Integral Mission is a term coined in Spanish as "misión integral" in the 1970s by members of the Latin American Theological Fellowship (FTL, its Spanish acronym) to describe an understanding of Christian mission which embraces both the proclamation and the demonstration of the Gospel. Integral mission is being adopted today by churches around the world who not only proclaim the gospel of forgiveness through Jesus Christ but seek to integrate their witness with demonstration of the love and justice of God in every dimension of life.

Churches can make a transforming difference to every dimension of people’s lives when they capture the vision of integral mission from Kairos!

Kairos in the present…

We seek to promote a vision of integral mission which embodies the reality of Christ’s rule over the whole of life and encourages Christians as individuals and churches to participate through word and deed in God’s mission in the world he created and has redeemed.

In light of this, Kairos...

1. Trains, follows-up and supports a range of people, institutions, and churches who are seeking to relate the gospel to:
- Domestic violence
- Addiction
- Aids
- Children at risk
- Youth
- Ecology
- Church models of leadership, community and mission
- Emerging church groups

2. encourages Christians to reflect theologically on their discipleship in all areas of practical living

3. .stimulates church reflection and action which is sensitive to a social science perspective and open to cooperation with governmental and non-governmental institutions.

4. serves to bring together churches and Christian groups who share a vision for mission

5. .inspires churches to respond creatively to the most vulnerable in society and those who need advocates to defend them.

Kairos in the future…

How can we help?
Kairos Foundation is operating in a difficult economic climate. It receives limited support from churches, friends and agencies. So to sustain its current ministries and expand its influence we are seeking to help them with substantial extra support

How can a donation be used?

* u$ 75 would provide a trainer to lead a workshop for one day
* u$ 150 would enable a needy christian to attend a community development course
* u$ 225 would provide support for one year’s study in CETI
* u$ 750 would pay the typesetting costs for a book
* u$ 1500 would pay to set up a micro-credit training course for a whole church
